What’s New: Software Development Schedule


At PMXpert Software, our number one goal is to listen to our customers’ requests for changes to the software and implement them in a timely way. We want to provide the most efficient, comprehensive and user-friendly preventive maintenance software on the market. In order to serve you better, we have implemented a new development schedule in which substantial software upgrades with new and enhanced features will be released in May and November of each year. Bug fixes will continue to be released throughout the year with our PMXpert Bulletin.

Software Update: Nov. 1, 2007 Version 10.2 Release


PMXpert Version 10.2, which includes many new and enhanced features, will be available November 1, 2007. Download the latest Software Update by logging in to PMXpert Support at http://www.pmxpertsoftware.co.uk/usersupport/supportmain.cfm. Click on the Downloads tab and click on the top PMXpert link.

To take advantage of the latest software updates, you must have a current Upgrade Protection Plan. If your Upgrade Protection Plan has lapsed, contact our Sales department at Sales.uk@PMXpert.com or 0871 218 0912.

New Features
  • The Work Orders tab and Purchase Orders tab in the Inventory screen display which parts are on the work orders and purchase orders
  • Import Work Order Details
 
Enhancements
  • Service Types have been added to Services, allowing you to categorise services and filter reports
  • In System Settings, select the Header Buttons that appear across the top of the PMXpert screen and adjust the order in which they appear
  • There is now a Sort Order for Purchase Order Detail
  • When generating Purchase Orders, you can now add, edit and remove details or remove purchase orders before they are generated

Helpful Hint: Find and Sort Records


Q. What is a selection grid and how can I find or sort records in a grid?

A: A selection grid is a table of columns and rows listing a variety of related records. You will see selection grids in many PMXpert screens and Find windows. You can customise most of these grids and sort the records to more easily find specific information.

To alter the horizontal order of columns, drag and drop headers into different positions. Re-size column width by clicking on the vertical splitter bar between headers and moving it to the right or left. To return to PMXpert’s default title header order and sizes, click the small empty cell to the left of the title row and select Reset Grid Customisation.

You can sort records in a selection grid by clicking on the column header by which you want to sort them, e.g. Item, Description, Work Order, etc. Click on the header a second time to reverse the order of the items. The red arrow in the header indicates the sort direction. To sort by more than one column header, hold down the Ctrl key while selecting the headings in the appropriate order.

Did You Know? Asset Templates Save Time


Did You Know …that Asset Templates can help you to reduce data entry and save time if you need to enter many similar pieces of equipment into PMXpert? For example, say you have acquired 20 identical or similar trucks for your company. Instead of painstakingly re-entering the same information twenty times, you can create one template that includes the standard Meter Type, Services, Procedures, Part/Fluid List and Attachments for all of the trucks. When you add the trucks using the template, you will only need to edit a few unique details for each asset, such as the Serial Number.

You can create a completely new template in the Asset Template screen, accessed by clicking Setup | Asset Templates in PMXpert’s main menu. You can also use an existing piece of equipment as a template. Find the asset in the Assets screen and select Asset | Save to Template. For more information, refer to the PMXpert User Manual at Chapter 2: Assets, Asset Templates.
