Create a Work Order for a Request

1.In the Requests screen, select the request you want to assign to a work order.
2.Click Request Options and choose Create W. O.. The Create a New Work Order for this Request window appears.
3.If you already selected an asset for this request, it should appear in the Asset field.  If not, click the ellipsis next to the field to select the correct asset.

4.Select the appropriate Service from the drop-down list.
5.Choose the Scheduled Date of the service from the drop-down calendar.
6.Choose a Priority level from the drop-down list.
7.The Request Description will default in, but can be edited.  Note that the description of the Work Order you are creating will default to the request description entered here.
8.The Request Status will be automatically set at Assigned.  If there are other “Assigned”-type status codes, you can change the status by clicking the Set Status button.
9.The Work Order Status will be automatically set to Open.  If there are other “Open”-type status codes, you can change the status by clicking the Set Status button.
10.Click OK.  PMXpert asks if you want to print the work order. Refer to Chapter 10: Reports, Print Reports for information on printing.
11.While still in the Request screen, click on the Request from which you just created a Work Order.  Then, click on the W.O.s header button to go to the Work Orders screen.  It will open directly to the Work Order you just created.  Click on the Assets header button to open the Assets screen, and it will open directly to the related asset.
12.To work within the Work Order you just created, review Chapter 5: Work Orders, Work Orders Screen Overview.
13.Note that if the request has attachments, those attachments will been turned into procedures for the service on the work order, if you have selected that option in your System Settings ("When Adding Requests to a Work Order, Add an Attachment Procedure for Each Request Attachment").  See Chapter 2: Setting Up PMXpert, Step 3: System Settings, Work Orders.
