Close a Work Order Service

| 1. | In the Work Orders screen, display the work order containing the services you want to close. |
| 2. | On the work order service selection grid, click the Service you want to close. |
| 3. | Click the Close button directly to the right. To close all services at once, click the Close All button. |
| a. | Note that there is a system setting option that may require you to complete all procedures before closing a work order service. If this option has been enabled, and you attempt to close a service before completing the procedures, you will receive a warning and will not be able to continue. Review your system settings in Chapter 2: Setting Up PMXpert, Step 3: System Settings, Work Orders. |
| 4. | The Close Service Wizard appears. The screens which appear in the wizard will depend on the information required to close the service, and the System Settings you selected in Chapter 2: Setting Up PMXpert, Step 3: System Settings, Work Orders. |

The details entered for this work order service (i.e. Parts, Fluids, Labor and Other) will appear in this selection grid. This screen will only appear if there are details related to the service. This screen will also not appear if you chose to skip it when closing a work order service in Chapter 2: Setting Up PMXpert, Step 3: System Settings, Work Orders. |
If you haven't done so already, you can now record how many items were actually required to complete the service. If you have not yet entered the quantities of the items, the actual quantities of the items will default to the estimated quantities or to zero, depending on the System Setting you chose. See Chapter 2: Setting Up PMXpert, Step 3: System Settings, Work Orders: When Pulling Detail from the Asset Services. To update the quantities of the items, click in the Quantity field on the selection grid and type in the correct number. |

To edit any of the items, click the Edit button to the right. Make your changes in the [Edit] window and click Save. Note that you can only enter the Performed Date at the Detail level if your System Settings allow it. Review Chapter 2: Setting Up PMXpert, Step 3: System Settings, Work Orders. If the option is turned off in your system settings, you will not see the Performed Date field, and the performed date for the item will be set to the performed date of the service. |

This screen appears if any requests were to be handled at the same time as this service and have not yet been performed. For more information about requests, see Add a Request to a Work Order and Perform Requests in this Chapter. |

Enter a serial number in the Serial # field on the selection grid. Click Next. |
In this screen, you can complete, add, edit, view and delete work order service procedures. This screen will not appear if you chose to skip it when closing a work order service in Chapter 2: Setting Up PMXpert, Step 3: System Settings, Work Orders.

In this screen, you can enter, edit and delete notes related to the service. |

Click the New button to open the Note [New] window. Type in the notes you require and click Save. |
Click Finish. |
If you have closed the last service in the work order, the Confirm dialog box will ask whether you would like to close the Work Order now. Click Yes to close the work order, and see Close a Work Order below. Click No if you do not want the close the work order yet. |
